A fatal road traffic collision occurred on 4 August at around 20:50 near the village of Horodzhiv in Lviv district. As a result of the crash, the driver of the car was killed and two passengers were injured.
According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, a 35-year-old resident of Lviv district, driving a Volkswagen Golf, lost control, left the carriageway and went into a ditch, where the car overturned.
The driver died at the scene from his injuries. The passengers in the car, residents of Lviv district aged 17 and 19, sustained bodily injuries and were taken to hospital.
Investigators from Police Station No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules or vehicle operation by persons driving vehicles). Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
