A fatal traffic accident occurred on December 12 at around 6:20 PM on the “Mykolaiv-Horodok-Zhovkva” highway in the village of Cherlyanske Peredmistia, located in the Lviv district.
According to preliminary police findings, the driver of a Toyota Auris, a 56-year-old resident of a village in the Sambir district, struck a 69-year-old pedestrian from the city of Horodok in the Lviv district.
Unfortunately, the woman succumbed to her injuries in the ambulance, despite medical efforts to save her.
The Lviv region’s transport crime investigation department has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with a possible suspension of driving rights for up to three years or without such suspension.
Investigators are currently working to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
