In the Lviv district, police detained a man who stabbed his mother.
The woman is in the hospital, and the suspect faces punishment of imprisonment for up to eight years. On June 7, around 16:00, the police received a report about the wounding of a woman in one of the villages in the Lviv district. Crime scene operatives, investigators, and officers of other subdivisions of police department No.1 of the Lviv district police department No.1 immediately arrived at the scene.
As established by the police, that day, a sudden conflict arose between the 48-year-old man and his 72-year-old mother, during which the perpetrator stabbed the woman in the abdominal area, causing serious bodily injuries. The victim was hospitalized.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural guidance of the Zhovkva District Prosecutor’s Office, informed him of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under part 1 of article 121 (Intentional Serious Bodily Injury) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a period of five to eight years. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
