A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car.
The accident occurred on 3 September, at around 19.15, on the Zhovkva-Kamianka-Buzka motorway near the village of Mali Peredrymky, Lviv district.
As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, the driver of a Mercedes-Benz, a 57-year-old resident of Zhovkva, collided with a Suzuki Boulevard motorcycle driven by a 45-year-old resident of the district.
The motorcyclist died on the spot from the injuries sustained in the accident.
It has been established that the driver of the car was driving under the influence of alcohol. He was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and the court will soon choose a type of detention.
Investigators of the Transport Crimes Investigation Department of the Lviv Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of five to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
