As a result of the car accident, three people were injured, including a one-year-old child.
The traffic accident happened on November 12, around 4:10 p.m., on the highway “Kyiv-Chop” near the village of Pidbirtsy, Lviv district.
As previously determined by the law enforcement officers, the driver of the “Renault Premium” truck, a 62-year-old resident of the Zakarpattia region, collided with a “Citroen C4” car driven by a 28-year-old resident of the Ternopil region. After that, the passenger car was thrown into the oncoming lane, where it collided with another Citroen C4 car driven by a 54-year-old man from Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the Citroen C4 from the Ternopil region and his passengers, a one-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman from the Ternopil region, were injured and hospitalized.
It was established that the truck driver was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. He is detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, the court will soon choose a preventive measure for him.
According to the fact, the investigators of the transport crime investigation department of the Lviv Oblast police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286-1 (Violation of the rules of road traffic safety or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation continues, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
