Criminal case opened in Lviv district over injury to 13-year-old boy

In one of the catering establishments in the Lviv district, a 22-year-old Lviv resident injured a 13-year-old boy during a conflict. This was reported following a complaint to the police by the child’s mother, a 40-year-old resident of one of the settlements in the district.

According to law enforcement officers, a sudden verbal conflict arose between the man and the teenager, during which the Lviv resident threw a lighter at the child’s head, causing bodily injuries.

Investigators from Police Department No. 1 of Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office, have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 125 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional minor bodily injury).

The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, or community service for up to two hundred hours, or correctional labour for up to one year.

A pre-trial investigation is currently under way, a forensic medical examination has been appointed for the victim, and the necessary investigative actions are being carried out. The information was made public by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
