The traffic accident occurred on April 27, around 00:40, on the Lviv-Pustomity-Medenichi highway near the village of Navaria, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, the driver of the Ford Transit car, a 35-year-old resident of the city of Pustomyty, hit a pedestrian, a 48-year-old resident of the same city.
The man died at the scene from injuries received as a result of the accident.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
