The traffic accident happened on April 13 at 2:10 pm at the intersection of the Lviv-Pustomyty-Medenychi highway in the village of Shchyrets, Lviv district. According to police, a DAF truck driven by a 36-year-old resident of a village in the Stryi district and a Honda scooter driven by a 74-year-old resident of a village in the Lviv district collided.
As a result of the accident, the scooter driver was injured and died at the scene.
In fact, investigators of the territorial police department of Lviv region opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article envisages punishment – imprisonment for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such.
A pre-trial investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
