The traffic accident happened today, August 24, around 10:45 a.m., on the Lviv-Ternopil-Rava-Ruska highway near the village of Tarasivka, Lviv district.
As previously established by law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Skoda car driven by a 51-year-old resident of Lviv and a Ford truck driven by a 43-year-old resident of the area.
The driver of the car died at the scene of the injuries sustained as a result of the accident, and his passenger, a 21-year-old woman from Lviv, sustained injuries and was hospitalized.
According to the fact, the investigators of the Department of Investigation of Crimes in the Field of Transport of the Lviv Oblast Police opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of three to eight years with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a term of up to three years or without it.
An investigation is underway, law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the incident.
