In Lviv, as a result of a night-time attack by Russian forces, civilian infrastructure has been damaged. At present, there are reports of 31 injured, including three children. The youngest boy is six years old and is in hospital. The number of injured may rise, as people continue to seek medical help. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
According to the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, the strike hit the city’s residential area.
“The target of the enemy strike was civilian infrastructure. At present, damage of varying degrees has been recorded to more than 20 multi-storey residential buildings. Two of them have suffered critical destruction – these are buildings on Patona and Vyhovskoho streets, where the upper floors have been partially destroyed. In the other buildings, windows have been blown out and facades and roofs damaged”
In addition to residential buildings, two pre-school education institutions, a school and a non-operational industrial facility were also damaged.
An emergency rescue operation is under way at the site of the strike. According to preliminary information, people may still be trapped under the rubble. Rescuers, medics, law enforcement officers, psychologists, municipal utilities and other emergency services are working at the scene.
Once the rescuers have finished their work, mobile Administrative Service Centres (TsNAPs) are to be set up for residents of the damaged buildings. There, people will be able to submit documents for compensation for destroyed or damaged property, and receive clarification on temporary resettlement and reimbursement of rental housing costs.
