In Lviv, two BMWs hit a father and his 8-year-old daughter on a crossing: investigation ongoing

In Lviv, at the junction of Kulchytska and Vyhovskoho streets, a road traffic collision occurred in which a 36-year-old man and his 8-year-old daughter were injured. This was reported under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

The collision happened yesterday at around 20:00. According to preliminary information, a 22-year-old resident of Yavoriv district, driving a BMW, hit an 8-year-old girl who was crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing together with her father. At the same time, at the same crossing, another BMW driven by a 21-year-old Lviv resident struck the 36-year-old father.

It has been preliminarily established that the man and the child were crossing the road at a red traffic light. Testing showed that both drivers were sober.

The victims are currently in intensive care with serious injuries. As part of the pre-trial investigation, automotive technical examinations will be ordered to determine the speed at which the vehicles were travelling.

Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations on the grounds of a violation of road traffic safety rules that caused serious bodily injuries to the victims (Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Lviv Region and is under the supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office leadership.
