In a flat in one of the buildings on Piskova Street in Lviv, a conflict broke out between two men while they were drinking alcohol, as a result of which the owner of the home sustained serious stab wounds. The incident was recorded by officers of Lviv District Police Department No.1.
According to preliminary findings by law enforcement officers, at around 20:00 on 22 July a sudden argument arose between a 45-year-old Lviv resident and his 67-year-old acquaintance, the owner of the flat. During the conflict, the guest stabbed the host twice with a knife, causing him serious bodily injuries.
Medics took the victim to hospital. The perpetrator was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigators, under the procedural guidance of the prosecution authorities, have notified the detainee that he is suspected under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm). The article provides for a sentence of between five and eight years’ imprisonment.
Pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is ongoing.
