A drug distribution scheme has been uncovered in Lviv, in which participants concealed cocaine inside a book about Lesya Ukrainka in order to send it by post. According to investigators, a 28-year-old man and his 32-year-old partner organised an illegal drug trade from March of this year.
The scheme involved purchasing cocaine wholesale and packaging it in a rented premises. To conceal the drug during transit, the perpetrators hid it inside a book about Lesya Ukrainka and attempted to dispatch the parcel.
Law enforcement officers identified and halted the criminal operation. A criminal case has now been opened and the materials have been referred to court. Those involved in the scheme face criminal liability for the distribution of narcotic substances.
