The Economic Court of Lviv Region has obligated a company to refund the state nearly one million hryvnias.
The court satisfied a lawsuit filed by the Deputy Head of the Specialized Defense Prosecution of the Western Region. This case involves the imposition of penalties on a private company for unjustly received funds.
It was revealed that a contract was signed between the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and a limited liability company for the construction of housing for military personnel. Despite such works being exempt from VAT, the company unjustly received almost 1 million UAH from the budget in taxes and did not return them to the state.
*Upon discovering the violation, the prosecution appealed to the court* to impose fines on the company. The court agreed with the prosecutor’s arguments and ordered the firm to refund the money. The specified amount has already been credited to the budget in the interests of the defense department.
