
In Lviv, an elderly woman was injured as a result of a bus collision. Police are investigating the circumstances.
The traffic accident occurred on December 11, around 18:50, on Varshavska Street in Lviv. Preliminary investigations by law enforcement officers revealed that the driver of an Elektron bus, a 39-year-old resident of Lviv, ran over a pedestrian, a 71-year-old resident of Lviv. As a result of the accident, the elderly woman sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
For this incident, investigators from the Lviv Police Transportation Crimes Investigation Department have opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Article 286 (“Violation of Traffic Safety Rules”) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article’s sanction provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such deprivation. Law enforcement officers are establishing the circumstances of the event.
