In Lviv, a Mother Accused of Killing Her Son, Case Forwarded to Court

Prosecutors from the Halytskyi District Prosecutor’s Office of Lviv have forwarded the case of a 66-year-old Lviv woman accused of intentional murder to the court.

According to the investigation, in May of this year, the woman took the life of her 44-year-old son with whom she lived. The son was disabled and frequently had conflicts with his mother due to excessive alcohol consumption. During one of these conflicts, she inflicted bodily injuries on him and strangled him. To cover up the crime, she called an ambulance, claiming her son was not breathing.

“At that point, he was already dead,” investigators noted. The woman was detained according to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and a preventive measure was chosen – custody without the right to bail.

The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Lviv police. It is important to remember: according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is innocent until proven guilty by a court verdict.
