Under the procedural leadership of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Lviv, a 48-year-old female psychiatrist from one of the city’s medical institutions was detained and informed of suspicion of extorting and receiving an unlawful benefit, committed by a group of persons based on a prior conspiracy (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Procedure Code).
As reported by the Lviv Oblast Police, a doctor of the Lviv Oblast Communal Psychiatric Hospital was detained.
According to the investigation, the woman demanded and received 200 dollars from a serviceman of the Armed Forces. USA for issuing him a discharge epicrisis, as the latter was being treated at the specified institution.
During the search of the doctor’s office, documents, money and other material evidence indicating her involvement in the specified crime were discovered and seized.
The court chose a preventive measure for the suspect in the form of round-the-clock house arrest.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out by the investigators of the LV LRUP No. 2 of the GUNP in the Lviv region based on the materials of the employees of the department for the protection of public and state interests of the GUNP in the Lviv region.
Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
