
An incident occurred in Lviv at Kropyvnytskoho Square involving a traffic accident which resulted in injuries to a pedestrian.
According to law enforcement, a 39-year-old driver of a Skoda Fabia, a resident of Lviv, hit a 67-year-old pedestrian who was crossing the road. As a result, the pedestrian sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized.
Investigators from the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 have opened a criminal case under part 1 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which provides for “violation of traffic safety rules”. The maximum penalty under this article is up to three years of restriction of freedom with the deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
The police continue to establish the circumstances of the incident.
