A road traffic accident in which a motorcyclist was injured occurred on the evening of 14 August on Vasyl Stus Street in Lviv. This was reported by Lviv District Police Department No.1.
At around 20:30, a Skoda Octavia driven by a 53-year-old Lviv resident and a Yamaha NMAX 150 motorcycle ridden by a 25-year-old resident of Lviv collided.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist sustained bodily injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
Investigators from Lviv District Police Department No.1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of road traffic safety rules). The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for the same period.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
