In Lviv, a car injures female pedestrian on Shevchenka Street

A road traffic collision involving a pedestrian injury occurred on 9 July at around 15:20 on Shevchenka Street in Lviv. The police reported the incident.

According to preliminary information from law enforcement officers, the driver of a Kia Cee’d, a 38-year-old resident of Zolochiv district, ran into a 26-year-old Lviv woman who was crossing the road as a pedestrian.

As a result of the collision, the woman sustained bodily injuries. The casualty was taken to hospital to receive medical care.

Investigators from Police Department No.1 of Lviv District Police Directorate No.1 have opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of road traffic safety rules. The article provides for a penalty of up to three years’ restriction of liberty with disqualification from driving vehicles for the same period.

Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
