A dangerous incident occurred in Lviv on Volodymyra Velykoho Street. Near a container site, a local street cleaner noticed a suspicious object close to the trash bins.
She did not ignore the find and acted responsibly by immediately informing the relevant services. After the call, the area was quickly cordoned off and access was restricted to prevent potential harm to passersby.
What explosives experts confirmed
Following an inspection, specialists confirmed the object was a real explosive device. According to the police update:
- explosives technicians neutralized the grenade together with its fuze;
- preliminarily, it is a combat defensive hand grenade of foreign origin;
- the device had been left inside a mug next to a trash container.
Police actions and investigation
Law enforcement officers are currently carrying out investigative actions and working to identify the person involved in leaving the grenade in a public area. The circumstances of how the munition ended up near residential infrastructure are being established.
