
In Lviv, a woman was injured at a public transport stop as a result of a car accident.
The traffic accident occurred on May 21, around 21:10, at the intersection of Shota Rustaveli and Kostomarova streets in Lviv. As previously established by law enforcement officers, there was a collision between a Toyota Camry, driven by a 45-year-old resident of Lviv, and a Volkswagen Eos driven by a 25-year-old resident of Lviv. Following this, the Volkswagen Eos, due to inertia, drove onto the public transport stop and hit a 21-year-old woman from Lviv.
As a result of the accident, the woman sustained injuries and was hospitalized in the ICU. Based on the fact, investigators from Lviv District Police Department No.1 opened a criminal proceeding under part 1 of article 286 “Violation of traffic safety rules” of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is imprisonment for up to three years, with the deprivation of the right to drive for up to three years.
