Yesterday afternoon, patrol officers received a call about a traffic accident on Lypinsky Street. The victim from the BMW car reported that the perpetrator fled from the scene of the accident.
An eyewitness to the event approached the police and provided a video from the recorder, where the license plates and make of the fugitive’s car were clearly visible. It turned out to be an Opel car.
Thanks to the cameras of the City Security Center, it was possible to calculate the direction of movement of the mentioned vehicle. The police searched for him at one of the nearby gas stations.
The owner’s sister was driving the car. The police established that he did cause this accident. The 34-year-old driver was charged with three offenses: under Art. 124 (Violation of traffic rules that caused an accident), Art. 122 – 4 (Leaving the scene of a traffic accident) and under Part 5 of Art. 126 (Repeated within a year of driving a vehicle while deprived of a driver’s license) Code of Criminal Procedure.
For the last violation, a fine of 40,800 hryvnias is provided, with the deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of five to seven years, with or without paid seizure of the vehicle.
The violator’s car was seized and taken to the detention center, as the vehicle was wanted by the executive service.
