In Lviv, an indictment has been submitted to court against a 23-year-old resident of Lviv district, who is accused of acquiring and storing psychotropic substances with intent to supply. This was reported by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the investigation, the perpetrator, who had previously already been held criminally liable, purchased a large consignment of the psychotropic substance PVP, which she intended to sell by dividing it into doses and making so-called ‘dead drops’.
On the night of 21 May, officers of the criminal police, investigators and staff of other units of Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Directorate No. 2, under the procedural guidance of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, detained the woman on Hnata Khotkevycha Street in Lviv pursuant to Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. She was carrying a zip-lock bag containing the psychotropic substance PVP weighing more than 35 grammes.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings initiated under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues”) has been completed, and the indictment has been referred to the court.
Under the charges brought, the woman faces a sentence of imprisonment for a term of nine to twelve years, with confiscation of property.
