During a night-time terrorist attack in Lviv, the patrol police lost their colleague, police officer Viktoria Shpylka. She was 23 years old.
In a statement, the Lviv Patrol Police noted that the tragedy was a painful loss for the unit and everyone who knew Viktoria.
Victoria is originally from Volyn. Later, she moved with her parents to Kherson and chose a career in public service. She graduated from Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and joined the patrol police. She initially worked in the Kherson region, and since 2023 she has been serving in the Lviv region.

Colleagues remember Victoria as someone who knew how to be a pillar of support — listening attentively, finding the right words even when the day seemed most difficult. They say she was not one to complain: instead, she smiled and went to work because she understood that people were waiting for her. She is described as loyal to her oath, fair and someone with a deep sense of duty.

Last autumn, Victoria got married. Her husband also serves in the patrol police. They worked together, made plans and dreamed about the future — now those dreams have been shattered.

The statement emphasises that behind the restrained lines of the official announcement lies the unspeakable pain of parents, loved ones, friends and colleagues.

Unread messages, silence in response, not coming home — these are things that are impossible to accept and impossible to ease the pain of loss. The patrol police emphasise: they will remember and they will not forgive.
