In Lviv, a fire broke out in a flat in a multi-storey building on Hrinchenka Street, during which firefighters led five people out of a smoke-filled stairwell, including a child and a woman with limited mobility. The incident was reported today at 16:12.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, thick black smoke was pouring from the window of a flat on the third floor of the five-storey residential building. Due to the heavy smoke, they worked in special breathing and eye protection apparatus.
Because of the smoke, not all residents were able to leave the building on their own, so the firefighters used special rescue devices to evacuate five people, including one child and a woman with limited mobility.
The fire was contained at 16:40 and completely extinguished at 16:51. A total of 16 firefighters and 5 units of special equipment were involved in tackling the blaze.
