A fire broke out in a flat in a multi-storey residential building on Sadova Street in Lviv, during which rescuers led people to a safe place and residents carried out their pets.
According to the emergency services, on 21 August at 15:04 they received a report of a fire in a flat on the eighth floor of a nine-storey residential building. By the time firefighters arrived, thick black smoke was pouring out of the window of the flat and household items were burning over an area of about 15 sq. m.
For the safety of the building’s residents, rescuers used special equipment to evacuate two people from the ninth floor. At the same time, residents themselves carried two dogs and a cat out of the flat, and another eight people left the building on their own.
The fire was contained at 15:22 and fully extinguished at 15:23. Specialists are establishing the cause of the fire.
