On the morning of 7 September, a fire broke out in a flat in a nine-storey residential building on Naukova Street in Lviv. The fire service was alerted at 07:32.
The fire started in one of the flats on the first floor. Household items were burning over an area of 5 sq. m, and the wooden ceiling cladding was also on fire over an area of 5 sq. m.
While extinguishing the fire, firefighters rescued three people and led another 10 people to safety, accompanied by personnel.
As a result of the incident, a man sustained superficial burns to his fingers. He was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Lviv.
The fire was contained at 07:50 and fully extinguished at 08:15. Specialists are establishing the causes and circumstances of the blaze.
