
In Lviv, a 92-year-old woman has died as a result of a fire in a flat in a residential building. The incident was reported by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.
The alarm about the fire on Uzhhorodska Street reached the rescue service at 09:42. A flat on the first floor of a four-storey residential building was on fire, and the premises were heavily smoke-logged.
While extinguishing the blaze, by the gas cooker, firefighters discovered the body of the 92-year-old owner of the flat showing no signs of life.
The fire was contained at 09:58 and fully extinguished at 09:59. The fire area was about 0.5 sq. m, with household items burning.
Eight firefighters and two units of specialist equipment were deployed to extinguish the fire. The causes of the fire and the circumstances of the woman’s death are being established by law enforcement agencies.
