
On the evening of 20 August, a fire broke out in the basement of a five-storey residential building on Velychkovskoho Street in Lviv. Rescuers were informed about the blaze at 21:44.
Household items were burning over an area of about 20 sq. m. Due to heavy smoke, firefighters worked using breathing apparatus.
For residents’ safety, rescuers used special equipment to lead four people, including one child, out of the smoke-filled building.
The fire was contained at 22:47 and fully extinguished at 23:00. Firefighters from Lviv and the Lviv State University of Life Safety were involved in tackling the blaze.
According to emergency services, no one was injured as a result of the incident. Specialists are establishing the cause of the fire.
