Law enforcers serve a notice of suspicion to offender who stabbed his friend in Lviv
As established by officers of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, together with officers of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Lviv Police, a conflict arose between the men while drinking alcohol. The suspect faces a sentence of imprisonment for up to eight years for his actions. The injured man is in hospital.
The incident occurred on July 22 at around 22.00 in an underpass on Lubinska Street. A conflict arose between two friends, residents of Lviv aged 37 and 39, who were drinking alcohol, during which the older man stabbed the younger one in the abdomen. The attacker then fled the scene.
The wounded man was found by a passerby who gave him first aid and called a medical team to the scene. The man is now in hospital.
The law enforcement officers identified the fugitive and his whereabouts by studying the video surveillance footage of the “Safe Lviv Region” system.
The investigators, under the procedural supervision of the Galician District Prosecutor’s Office, served him a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 121 (Intentional grievous bodily harm) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspect.
