The accident occurred on July 22, around 10:15 p.m., at 202 Stryiska Street in Lviv. As law enforcement officers have preliminarily established, an unknown driver of an unidentified motorcycle hit a pedestrian, a 57-year-old Lviv resident, and fled the scene.
As a result of the accident, the woman was injured and hospitalized.
Investigators of the Lviv District Police Department No. 2 opened criminal proceedings over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286 (Violation of traffic safety rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided for by the sanction of the article is restraint of liberty for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years.
A set of operational and investigative measures is being taken, law enforcement officers are establishing the identity of the driver who committed the accident and the location of the motorcycle.
