The law enforcement officers remind once again that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum punishments are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
On March 20, around 9:25 p.m., the police received a report from a Lviv woman that an unknown man had snatched her mobile phone from her hand and fled on Chervonaya Kalyna Avenue in Lviv.
Criminal police operatives, investigators and other employees of police department No. 2 of Lviv district police department No. 2 worked at the scene.
As the law enforcement officers established, an unknown man took the victim’s mobile phone under the pretext of buying it. However, after inspecting it, he ran away without paying for the goods.
The law enforcement officers conducted a complex of operative and investigative measures, studied the recordings of video surveillance cameras of the “Safe Lviv region”, established the location of the intruder and detained him. He turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of the Donetsk region.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police, under the procedural guidance of the Frankiv District Prosecutor’s Office, informed the intruder of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 186 (Robbery) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of seven to ten years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
