In Lviv, the police detained a “pickpocket” thief who “worked” in trams

The law enforcement officers remind that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum penalties are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.

The perpetrator, a 28-year-old resident of Lviv, who had previously been brought to criminal responsibility, in particular for robbery, was exposed by operatives of the criminal police of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 during the inspection of the service area.

As the law enforcement officers established, on June 8, at around 11:30 a.m., while traveling in a tram, on Danylo Halytsyy Square, he stole a wallet with money and documents from the purse of a 22-year-old female passenger.

The police arrested the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, physical evidence was seized from him.

According to the fact, the investigators of the territorial division of the police opened criminal proceedings under Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the detainee.
