Law enforcers seized amphetamine, PVP and mephedrone worth a total of UAH 100,000 at black market prices. He faces imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
A 25-year-old Lviv resident carrying a plastic ziplock bag with a psychotropic substance “PVP” weighing about 70 grams was detained on 12 July on Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street by operatives of the Drug Crime Department of the Lviv Police jointly with criminal police operatives of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1.
During a search of the offender’s residence, the following items were found and seized: packages with substances similar to cannabis, psychotropic substances amphetamine, PVP and mephedrone, packaging equipment, electronic scales, draft records and other material evidence. All seized items were sent to the Lviv Scientific Research Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine for examination.
Investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural supervision of the Halych District Prosecutor’s Office, served the Lviv resident a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 3 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under the article is imprisonment for up to twelve years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court has chosen custody as a measure of restraint for the suspect.
