It was established that the 41-year-old Lviv resident was selling psychotropic drugs to clients on a hand-to-hand basis. He faces imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
Criminal police operatives and investigators of the Lviv District Police Department #2 documented the facts of the sale of psychotropic substances by the offender and on 30 August detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code at his place of residence in Lviv during the next sale of prohibited substances.
During an authorised search, the police found and seized from the detainee a crystalline substance similar to the psychotropic drug PVP, electronic scales, packaging equipment, cash proceeds from illegal activities and other material evidence.
All seized items were sent for examination to the Lviv Scientific Research Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
Investigators of the territorial police unit, under the procedural supervision of the Frankivsk District Prosecutor’s Office, served the offender a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offence under Part 2 of Art. 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, shipment or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty under the article is imprisonment for up to ten years with confiscation of property.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the court will soon choose a measure of restraint against the suspect.
