The law enforcement officers remind that in the conditions of martial law, the maximum penalties are provided for committing theft, robbery, robbery, extortion, as well as for misappropriation, waste of property or possession of it by abuse of official position.
As the employees of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1 established, on March 21 around 9:00 p.m. in one of the cafes located in the center of Lviv, a 21-year-old resident of the Lviv District stole a wallet with money in the amount of 1,700 hryvnias from a 19-year-old visitor.
The law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, physical evidence was seized from him.
Investigators of the territorial division of the police informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 4 of Article 185 (Theft) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum punishment provided by the sanction of the article is up to eight years of imprisonment.
Soon, the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
