Over one hundred drivers in Lviv have been held accountable for parking in spaces designated for people with disabilities.
Parking spaces for people with disabilities are marked by sign 5.42.1 “Parking Spaces” with plate 7.17 “Persons with Disabilities” according to the Traffic Regulations of Ukraine. These spots are convenient as they are located near the entrance to establishments.
Persons who do not fall under the definition of the Law of Ukraine “On Principles of Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities in Ukraine” are responsible under part 6 of article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine. The sanction involves a fine ranging from 1020 to 1700 UAH and the possible evacuation of the vehicle.
