In Lviv, on Ostrohradski Street, a man sustained stab wounds to the chest and abdominal cavity during a conflict. Patrol officers who arrived in response to the call provided him with pre-medical assistance and helped to have the victim taken to hospital.
At the scene, the police applied an occlusive dressing to the chest with a penetrating wound, after which they handed the man over to medics.
Patrol officers identified and detained a 59-year-old man who, according to preliminary information, inflicted bodily injuries on a citizen during the conflict. An investigative team from Lviv District Police Department No. 2 was working at the scene.
The 59-year-old man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. He is charged under Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional grievous bodily harm), which carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
