The perpetrator, who was engaged in the manufacture and sale of psychotropic substances, was exposed by the operatives of the Office for Combating Narcotic Crimes in the Lviv Region together with the investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Galicia District Prosecutor’s Office.
It was established that a 40-year-old resident of Lviv set up a drug laboratory in his apartment. During the authorized search, which was carried out with the force support of the special forces of the police of the Lviv region, law enforcement officers discovered and seized more than 200 grams of a substance similar to the psychotropic drug “amphetamine” in various amorphous states, precursors, as well as laboratory equipment: a refrigerator, thermometers, glass flasks, measuring glasses, electronic scales and other physical evidence. Everything discovered is directed to expert research.
Also, during the pre-trial investigation, the law enforcement officers documented the facts of the perpetrator’s sale of his “products”.
Soon, the investigators of the territorial division of the police will notify the Lviv resident of the suspicion of committing a crime, provided for in part 2 of article 307 (Illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, storage, transportation, forwarding or sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances or their analogues) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a term of six to ten years with confiscation of property.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for him.
