In Lviv, law enforcement officers detained an intruder, suspected of organizing the illegal transportation of men abroad

It was established that the detainee, a 22-year-old man from Lviv, who had previously been criminally charged, valued his “services” at $6,000 from each “client”. In total, he is involved in more than ten cases of illegal transportation of conscript men across the state border of Ukraine.

The perpetrator was exposed by operatives of the Migration Police Department, the Department of Military Counter-Intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine and the 7th Carpathian Border Detachment, together with investigators of Police Department No. 2 of Lviv District Police Department No. 1, under the procedural guidance of the Zhovkiv District Prosecutor’s Office.

As the law enforcement officers established, for a monetary reward, the suspect produced forged documents for conscripted men, citizens of Ukraine, which gave them the opportunity to travel outside of Ukraine during martial law.

On July 5, law enforcement officers detained the perpetrator in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine while receiving the full amount of funds from another “client”.

The investigators informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for in Part 3 of Article 332 (Illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment – deprivation of liberty for a period of seven to nine years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for a period of up to three years with confiscation of property.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and soon the court will choose a preventive measure for the suspect.
