Under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, nine individuals from Donetsk have been charged with treason, participation in a terrorist organization, and being part of prohibited armed groups. The charges are based on Articles 111, 258-3, and 260 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to information obtained during the investigation, the suspects joined enemy forces during military actions in Ukraine, particularly the illegal military formation ‘people’s militia’ of the self-proclaimed ‘DNR’. They were mobilized into the infantry battalions of the 129th regiment, subordinate to the 1st Army Corps of the Russian Federation.
The individuals involved performed various military roles, including squad leaders, snipers, grenade launchers, and machine gunners. Their actions aimed at supporting active combat operations and capturing Ukrainian territories spread across the Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, each of these persons is presumed innocent until their guilt is proven in a legally established manner.
