In Lviv, on Stryiska Street, rescuers provided assistance to a driver who fell ill at the wheel of a Buick Regal. The incident occurred on 14 September at 06:42.
On their way back from a call-out, firefighters noticed a car that had veered off the carriageway and come to a stop after hitting the kerb. The rescuers pulled over to check the situation and found the driver inside unconscious, with the car doors locked.
Using specialist tools, the rescuers unlocked the vehicle and removed the man from the car. Before the medics arrived, they carried out resuscitation measures. When the driver began to show signs of life, he was placed in the recovery position and handed over to emergency medical staff.
The man, in a moderate condition, was taken to St Luke’s Hospital in Lviv.
