In Lviv, on Karpatska Street, rescuers helped a woman and her cat safely come down from a tree about 4 metres high. The unusual call to the Rescue Service “101” came in on 11 July at 22:16.
While out for a walk, the cat suddenly scrambled up a tree. The owner climbed up after her pet and managed to reach it, but then realised she could not get back down on her own, so she called the rescuers.
On arrival, the emergency crew set up an extension ladder, after which the woman confidently climbed down from the tree, holding her four-legged favourite firmly in her arms. No one was injured in the incident.
Rescuers are urging people to take care over safety when out walking with their pets and, in case of danger, to call the Rescue Service for help.
