In Lviv, a further 11 neglected cars have been forcibly removed from the streets after standing immobile for a long time, obstructing residents and breaching public realm regulations. This was reported by the Department of Security and Street Infrastructure of the Lviv City Council.
The decision to relocate the vehicles was taken by the commission responsible for identifying and moving neglected vehicles within the Lviv community. Before removal, warning notices were placed on the cars, calling on owners to remove their vehicles themselves, but there was no response.
According to the city department, the abandoned cars had been standing for a long time at the following addresses: vul. O. Telihy, vul. Naukova, 53 and 54, vul. V. Velykoho, 19, vul. Kulchytskoi, 4, vul. Horodotska, 124 and 291, vul. Mazepy, 24, vul. Puliuia, 30, vul. Liubinska, 97b, vul. Mykolaichuka, 16. All these vehicles have been taken to the impound lot at vul. Koniushynna, 13.
The commission that decides on compulsory removal includes representatives of the police, staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs service centre, and officials and councillors of the Lviv City Council. They record instances of vehicles standing immobile for extended periods and breaches of public realm regulations.
In total, according to the Lviv City Council, since the launch of the programme to regulate abandoned vehicles, 103 abandoned vehicles have already been moved to the impound lot. At the same time, some owners, having learned about the possible removal, have independently taken their cars off the streets or brought them into proper condition.
