In Lviv, as a result of a scooter accident, an elderly woman was injured – the police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The road accident occurred on June 10, around 11:15 PM, on Svobody Avenue in Lviv. According to preliminary police findings, a Honda Dio scooter driven by a 27-year-old resident of Lviv hit a pedestrian, an 80-year-old woman from Lviv, who was walking on the sidewalk. As a result of the accident, the elderly woman sustained bodily injuries and was taken to a medical facility.
Following the incident, investigators from Lviv District Police Department No. 1 initiated a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 286 (‘Violation of Traffic Safety Rules’) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum penalty provided by the article’s sanction is a restriction of freedom for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years. The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident.
