In Lviv, an official from the railway station orchestrated an illegal scheme, using his position to obtain undue benefit from subordinates. It was established that under his leadership, the workshop manager at the Central Station demanded a monthly ‘tribute’ from employees, involving two staff members from the commuter station.

Through joint efforts of the investigative department of Lviv police and officers from the Strategic Investigations Directorate, under the procedural guidance of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, facts of criminal activity were uncovered. Over four months, they obtained undue benefit amounting to about 460,000 hryvnias.

The organiser of the scheme was charged with a crime under part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. His accomplices were charged with aiding and abetting the mentioned offence. The suspects face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to ten years with the deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for up to three years, with confiscation of property. The pre-trial investigation continues.
