In Lviv, a Group to be Tried for Embezzling 1.7 Million UAH

In Lviv, members of an organised group will stand trial for embezzling nearly 1.7 million UAH during the procurement of medical goods. An authorised public procurement officer of the medical-diagnostic centre and the chief nurse of the medical institution facilitated the interests of a ‘preferred’ contractor during tenders.

The goods were delivered to the institution at inflated prices, and the amount of undue benefit was about 10% of the sum of each delivery. Moreover, the medical goods were supplied in smaller quantities than declared. The total budget loss amounts to nearly 1.7 million UAH.

In January this year, law enforcement officers informed seven members of the organised group of their suspicion.
