In Lviv, an organised group will be tried for embezzling budget funds from a medical institution amounting to nearly 1.7 million UAH. Prosecutors from the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office have sent an indictment to court concerning seven individuals involved in this crime.
The scheme involved the procurement of medical goods for one of Lviv’s regional medical-diagnostic centres. The head nurse orchestrated the embezzlement of funds during the supply of goods, enlisting two hospital employees and a representative of the supplier companies.
The plan included inflating prices for goods, conducting tenders for a specific supplier, and signing fictitious invoices. As a result of these actions, the hospital suffered losses of nearly 1.7 million UAH over the course of 2023–2024.
All members of the group are charged with abuse of office, which caused property damage to public interests. The pre-trial investigation was conducted by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv region.
