Foreign Woman to Be Tried in Lviv for Espionage

In Lviv, a 43-year-old foreign national is to be tried, accused of gathering information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement officials. This has been made possible through an investigation conducted by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor’s Office. This was reported on Facebook.

The woman conspired with a 32-year-old Ukrainian who was located in a temporarily occupied territory, and she passed on the information she collected to him. Following his instructions, she photographed and recorded videos of military facilities and sent this material via messenger. She received payments for this on a bank card and cryptocurrency wallet.

Law enforcement officers were able to halt the foreign woman’s illegal activities by detaining her in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. She is accused under Part 3, Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for disseminating information about the location of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during martial law, and under Part 1, Article 182 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for illegally collecting confidential information.

Currently, at the request of the prosecutors, a court has imposed the strictest preventive measure — detention without the right to bail. The investigation was conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
